Pulse — percee®'s Polish-language publication on energy in business

Pulse is our publication on energy in business — short, practical pieces on what actually moves an energy bill and what is merely fashionable. It is written in Polish, and you can read all of it at percee.energy/pl/pulse.

Każdy tekst kończy się puentą: jak nasz system może pomóc w tym temacie

The newsletter is in Polish as well: leave an email address and once every four weeks we send a short summary of the new pieces. Nothing else.

All Lowering charges Meeting EPBD, ISO and ESG Optimising buildings Where to start

Od czego zacząć

Four good decisions, one bad outcome – PV, storage and a dynamic tariff

A dynamic price, oversized solar, a battery and a new supply contract — each sensible on its own, and together they add up badly. Why the whole matters more than any single step.

Jak zoptymalizować budynki

PV above 50 kW – prosumer or MIOZE, and why it is a trap

Expanding solar beyond 50 kW removes prosumer status and turns the company into a MIOZE. What changes then, and how not to overpay for an installation that does not earn.

Jak obniżyć opłaty

Renewables, capacity charges and profile – what an energy manager does tomorrow at 1:00 PM

The argument about renewables does not lower the bill. The invoice carries contradictory signals — SPOT and the capacity charge — and what counts is total cost, hour by hour.

Jak obniżyć opłaty

Energy contract priced on the SPOT average – the worst of both worlds

A price set as last month's SPOT average sounds reasonable, yet it combines the flaws of both tariffs: the exposure of a dynamic one and the helplessness of a fixed one. What to watch for in the contract.

Jak obniżyć opłaty

How do we know we are really saving energy – measurement and verification

Comparing two invoices does not prove savings. Why credible measurement and verification requires weather correction, a baseline and common sense.

Jak obniżyć opłaty

Water, nuclear and heatwaves – why demand flexibility matters

In a heatwave, nuclear plants lose output for want of cooling water. Waterless renewables move the volatility onto demand — and the market prices profile, not volume.

Jak zoptymalizować budynki

Building automation cybersecurity – the Modbus/TCP risk

Building automation still runs on unencrypted protocols like Modbus/TCP. Why that is an OT cybersecurity gap, and how to actually close it.

Od czego zacząć

The real cost of energy – the invoice is only the tip of the iceberg

The invoice describes only part of what energy really costs a company. Technical effort, billing errors, property value and regulatory risk in one equation.

Jak obniżyć opłaty

AI in energy efficiency – data matters more than the model

Even if AI were free and better, it will not save a facility with no metering, no integration and no control. The bottleneck is not intelligence, it is data.

Jak obniżyć opłaty

Energy metering – the rules, and how many meters to install

Without good metering the whole of energy optimisation falls apart. The rules of correct measurement and a practical answer: how many meters you really need.

Jak spełnić EPBD, ISO i ESG

EPBD and energy cost – fewer kWh is not always a smaller bill

The EPBD directive is not only an obligation to cut consumption. The same automation that lowers emissions can lower the bill — if somebody manages it.

Od czego zacząć

AI in energy management – what waiting actually costs

"Let's wait and do it ourselves with AI, cheaper" is a convenient excuse. Three costs of postponing the decision: compute, capital and procrastination.

Jak obniżyć opłaty

Dynamic tariff with a price guarantee – is it worth it?

A dynamic tariff "with a maximum price guarantee" is an insurance premium, not a gift. Why a price cap solves the problem from the wrong end.

Jak spełnić EPBD, ISO i ESG

EPBD and BACS readiness – a building audit procedure

You can measure your buildings' EPBD readiness yourself. A four-step procedure: output, automation coverage, a data test and deadlines on the investment calendar.

What to expect from an EMOS – flexibility in automation

"If it works, better not touch it" can be the most expensive strategy there is. What an Energy Manager should really expect from automation: flexibility of response.

Jak spełnić EPBD, ISO i ESG

BMS vs BACS under EPBD – what most systems are missing

Most BMS installations will not meet the EPBD requirements for BACS — and it is not about their age. Four areas where the directive demands more than "we have automation".

Jak zoptymalizować budynki

Monitoring energy consumption is not yet energy management

A third of companies have digital oversight of energy, yet 94% do not control their consumption profile. Why only closing the loop turns data into savings.

Jak zoptymalizować budynki

Energy storage for business – the cheapest one you already own

The largest energy store is already sitting in your facility — as cold, heat, pressure or work in progress. Why it is often many times cheaper than a battery.

Jak spełnić EPBD, ISO i ESG

The EPBD directive – 4 pillars and the BACS obligation for buildings

The EPBD directive will touch thousands of buildings, and few people know its content. Four pillars: new buildings, renovations, systems and BACS automation.

Jak obniżyć opłaty

Fixed-price energy for business – why it is the most expensive option

A fixed tariff has to be the most expensive one — that is not a conspiracy of suppliers, it is mathematics. Why the price of peace of mind rises faster than the market average.

Jak spełnić EPBD, ISO i ESG

The EPBD directive – the market is implementing it faster than the law

The market treats EPBD requirements as fact before national legislation arrives. Why banks and tenants already hold companies to the directive — and what that means.

Jak zoptymalizować budynki

BMS, SCADA and EMS – why automation does not save energy

BMS, SCADA, EMS and HVAC controls — every system has its own idea about energy. The problem is not too little automation, but the missing hierarchy of goals.

Od czego zacząć

The Energy Manager's role – where the energy savings really are

An Energy Manager measured only on total kWh is optimising the wrong parameter. Five areas holding money that the classic KPI cannot see.

Od czego zacząć

What is an EMS – the energy management market looks like ERP in 1998

The EMOS market is going through what ERP went through a quarter of a century ago. Whoever recognises the category first will build the advantage.

Jak zoptymalizować budynki

BMS vs EMOS energy management system – the key difference

Optimising a single device is not energy management. See where the savings really come from: the decision on when, and at what price, to consume.
